I think it’s mainly to save gas!
Our main goal here is to save energy and reduce consumption; it seems that the impact on the furnace temperature isn’t very significant
After adding the air preheater, there was no significant change in the furnace temperature, and the allowable heat load of the heater remained essentially unchanged; the main benefit was reduced fuel consumption.
Furnace temperature is a requirement of the process; it remains unchanged as long as the process parameters stay the same. It’s mainly because you used less fuel gas
The addition of an air preheater primarily serves to recover the heat from the flue gas, increase the temperature of the air entering the furnace, reduce the amount of gas required for heating, thereby saving fuel and improving the thermal efficiency of the furnace. However, the design parameters of the furnace, such as heat load and heat intensity, remain unchanged.
But now there are many types of air preheaters, with varying efficiencies
