What are the requirements for the raw materials in catalysis?
Each set of equipment has corresponding design requirements regarding material properties; generally, there are no issues with normal production as long as the design differences are minimal. The residual carbon and density of raw materials can vary significantly depending on the design of different devices, but the maximum levels of impurities such as vanadium, nickel, calcium, and sodium in certain raw materials are generally subject to strict limits.
The raw material for catalysis is preferably straight-run crude with a density of 350–550, having a carbon residue level not exceeding 6 and a low content of heavy metals
There are certainly requirements regarding the residual carbon content of the raw materials, as the design team determines the heat extraction capacity of the regenerator based on those residual carbon values. Additionally, the heavy metal content in the raw materials matters; high levels of such metals can cause poisoning of the catalysts
