The first thing to keep in mind is that the torch shouldn’t go out due to being blown out or sucked out of air, nor should the person using it suffer from oxygen deficiency. A pressure level of zero atmosphere is definitely not suitable for this; either a slight positive pressure or a slight negative pressure will allow air flow to aid combustion, ensuring that the torch doesn’t go out due to lack of oxygen. Since smoke might be emitted at the moment of ignition under slight positive pressure, which could harm people, a slight negative pressure would be better. Speaking of the best ignition gun I’ve seen, its fuel gas and air inlet orifice plates have diameters of 1 mm and 3 mm respectively, resulting in a flow ratio of 1:9. There is a pressure regulator in front of the orifice plates, with the pressure there being set at around 1 kg/cm2; in practice, this pressure needs to be adjusted appropriately depending on the composition of the fuel gas. During the trial ignition outside the furnace, for example by adjusting both the air pressure and the fuel gas pressure to 1 kg/cm2 in advance, during ignition the air pressure was kept constant while the fuel gas pressure was adjusted slightly and rapidly to determine at what pressure the flame would be strongest (which is a rather crude method). The manufacturers measure the ion flow at the flame; I remember that our fuel gas pressure of 1.1 kg/cm2 yielded the best results. ——With this flame, even if you fan it vigorously with a large piece of plywood, the flame doesn’t move at all. With such a lighting gun to ignite the main burner, our furnace uses sealed ignition when the lighting gun functions properly; at this time, there is no such thing as slight positive or negative pressure – it is definitely under positive pressure. The main air is supplied first, followed by the fuel gas, and as long as the ratio between the two is appropriate, ignition will occur immediately. In actual production, it has also happened that the flame went out quickly after being lit due to a lack of oxygen in the furnace; therefore, it is important to ensure an adequate supply of air, or not to increase the gas flow too rapidly. After lighting, make quick adjustments based on the flame condition.
