How is the residence time determined for the gasoline alkaline washing tank and the water washing tank?

Recently, SV static mixers have been used in the alkali washing and water washing processes for gasoline design. Since the size of the droplets in the dispersed phase after passing through the static mixer is unknown, it is not possible to design the size of the sedimentation tank. How can the residence time in the gasoline alkaline washing tank and the water washing tank be determined?
We use ionizers, designed with a processing capacity of 500,000 tons per year and a volume of 60 cubic meters. In actual operation, the maximum processing capacity is only 400,000 tons per year.
I have also been designing recently. I was wondering if it’s possible to initially calculate the volume of the tank based on the volumes of the two media? I’ve seen some say that the liquid retention time is 20 minutes.
