Negative pressure distillation of oils

When a vacuum distillation tower is used to separate oils, what happens to the vapor drawn out by the vacuum pump? Is it sent back directly into the same vacuum distillation tower? If the liquid is sent directly back to the original negative-pressure distillation tower, what if the seals in the pipes or elsewhere are not proper? Could air get into the tower, creating a risk of explosion? Please ask an expert to help answer
In the gas phase, it’s either to vent to a flare or to use as fuel gas; in our case, it’s directly vented to a flare
