Is it worth recovering carbon dioxide from refinery flue gases (flue gases from coal or gas boilers, catalytic cracking flue gases, and heating furnace flue gases)?
It is valuable, but current carbon capture technology is too expensive. Shenhua Ordos Company has a 100,000-ton/year carbon capture facility in operation.
It has recycling value, but no recycling benefit.
It depends on what use you have for it. I have developed several systems for recovering carbon dioxide from flue gases; currently, the maximum capacity is 20 t/h of carbon dioxide recovered, and these systems can be used for flue gases from lime kilns and boilers as well

It is valuable, but due to the weak foundation in basic research, it is wasted needlessly. This is especially true in the field of coal chemistry; if suitable catalysts can be found, coal can be directly converted into various useful chemical products, and the conversion efficiency of coal will gradually approach its limit. I hope that day will come soon!

At what low level can steam prices be to be profitable?
The amount available is very limited. Moreover, from the perspective of carbon emissions, it merely prolongs the chain of carbon emissions; the amount emitted remains the same.
