The review of external drawings generally does not include an examination of strength calculations, unless there are obvious doubts regarding the drawings that prompt such an assessment. When reviewing external drawings, we focus on determining their classification, whether the classification matches the manufacturing qualifications, whether the signing on the drawings is proper, whether the design stamps are valid, whether the selected design standards and regulations comply with the requirements, and whether the design documents are complete.
This is how we do it: once the technical staff receive the drawings from the design institute, they conduct a review of those drawings. This includes checking the strength calculations, the technical requirements specified in the drawings, the material requirements, the machining requirements, and verifying the dimensions. A record of this review is prepared, and after it is signed at two levels, communication is held with the design unit to resolve any issues before construction begins.

When examining the calculation reports prepared by the design institute, first check what software was used for the calculations and whether it is the latest version; second, verify whether the input data is correct. If there are no issues with the inputs, further calculations are not necessary. If there are errors in the inputs, it is sufficient to contact the design institute without conducting additional calculations.

It is generally necessary to conduct checks. Although the design institute reviews the drawings, if any issues arise, the company will still be involved. Usually, after we finish drawing the diagrams, we first have them reviewed by the design institute; once they send them back to us, we conduct another review. Only after confirming that there are no problems do we proceed with finalizing the process details.
Usually, calculations are carried out to verify whether the design strength is reasonable, but such calculations are not done in full; they are used to assess the risks that may arise during the manufacturing process. :P
