Is the alignment of container cylinders done more vertically or horizontally?
It’s just for convenience anyway. As long as the pairing requirements are met
Generally, it is determined by taking into account factors such as the diameter of the tubular element to be lifted, the lifting capacity, and the welding method; for smaller diameters, horizontal alignment is usually used, while for larger diameters, vertical alignment is more convenient.
Depending on the equipment capabilities and environmental conditions, for parts with large diameters, thin walls that are usually welded manually, vertical assembly is generally employed; Generally, those with idler rollers have a slightly smaller diameter and relatively thicker walls; they are usually assembled horizontally using automatic welding. Vertical assembly is easier because gravity has less of an impact during alignment, but it is difficult to ensure straightness in multi-stage assemblies. In horizontal assembly, the diameter accuracy is easy to control due to the idler rollers, but alignment is more difficult.

But if it’s large and thin, and if the conditions – such as the factory facilities and lifting capabilities – allow for vertical installation or inversion, that would be much better. By the way, you’re a beginner as a riveter, right? Someone upstairs said that horizontal installation makes it easier to maintain straightness; I can’t agree with that. Straightness has little to do with the assembly process of the tube sections. What really matters is the quality of each individual section. Beginners tend to overlook this aspect
For horizontal assembly, it is first necessary to ensure that the heights of the two roller frames are identical. I haven’t seen any horizontal assembly methods before; perhaps I’m just not well-informed.

Our group usually uses vertical setups, with horizontal ones being very rare.
