When H/D ≤ 5, according to NB/T 47041, the design should be carried out with reference to Appendix E. However, Appendix E only mentions the use of the bottom shear method for calculating horizontal seismic loads. In this case, is it necessary to consider additional loads such as wind loads and eccentric loads in accordance with the main text? Seeking advice from seniors
There is another issue: if it is designed according to Appendix E, the SW6 column calculation software should not reference Appendix E. In that case, should it be calculated as a vertical vessel and then Appendix E be calculated manually?
