I checked the standards for composite panels; carbon steel can be combined with duplex steel to form such panels. However, there is a view that: \"For composite panels made of duplex steel, if heat treatment is required due to the thick thickness of the base material, the corrosion resistance of the duplex steel will decrease significantly as a result. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid using duplex steel in the manufacture of equipment.\" 1. It’s true that corrosion resistance decreases after heat treatment, but is the extent of this decrease acceptable? If it’s not acceptable, does that mean Cr-Mo steel cannot be combined with duplex steel? Because of the heat treatment of Cr-Mo steel? 2. Has anyone used equipment for manufacturing composite plates with a carbon steel base layer combined with duplex steel in actual manufacturing processes? Please everyone explain it to me
In fact, any container made of stainless steel composite panels should try to avoid heat treatment in order to maintain its corrosion resistance. Another important issue is that the manufacturing process of composite panels also inevitably requires stress-relief heat treatment, and the heat treatment parameters are determined based on the base material; therefore, it is inevitable that this will have an impact on the corrosion resistance of stainless steel.
For duplex steel composites, the impact of heat treatment is even more severe. When heated in the range of 475 to 850 degrees, it is highly prone to the formation of brittle phases, which can severely affect its corrosion resistance; therefore, strict control is necessary during both the production of composite sheets and the heat treatment of containers.
