Does wrinkling or deformation occurring during the manufacturing of Class 3 pressure vessels, followed by grinding of the cylinder wall to reduce its thickness to a level close to the wall thickness, constitute a major repair under TSG 21-2016?
For example, if the wall thickness is designed to be 15, but it ends up being 25 after manufacturing, it is then polished down to 15.
During the manufacturing process, it cannot be called maintenance; rather, it is rework or correction.
What causes wrinkles to appear? Is the cylinder rolled? Such situations occurring during the head pressing process are not allowed.
In this case, the plate should be replaced. The plate is deformed; how to align it?
Change the plate? Could you explain it in detail?
As the original poster said, the container is in the manufacturing process; therefore, the current grinding constitutes a form of rework. If the container is already in use and requires grinding, then consider whether it constitutes major maintenance. The grinding depth must meet the standard requirements, which are related to two aspects: one is the depth itself, and the other is the ratio of the grinding depth to the thickness. I can’t remember the details exactly, and I also don’t know what the thickness of the grinding done by the original poster was, so it’s hard to determine :)
The coil bends, and wrinkles appear during the bending process
Hello! Could you provide this standard specification? Where can I find it?
