Will it be canceled? If it exists, in what form does it exist?
The future of static equipment looks bleak. To survive, one must learn stress analysis and keep improving oneself; otherwise, apart from facing setbacks everywhere, there is nothing but frustration to endure.

In my opinion, in the future, design firms will likely handle less detailed design work for static equipment, and instead focus on technical agreements, reviewing drawings submitted by external contractors, and ensuring timely delivery. This requires a broader range of knowledge, with greater expertise needed in stress calculations, materials, and manufacturing processes.
The design specialty in design institutes will definitely not disappear; that’s the reality of our country. But that’s just the way the industry is – it’s always in a state where one can’t starve, but also can’t get enough……
From what you’re saying, it seems that the design institute isn’t very skilled either, and it appears that the project might be canceled. What will happen if it’s canceled? Will just anyone be hired to carry out the design work? I think the design of static equipment also requires highly professional and comprehensive skills or knowledge to back it up. I don’t think that as society continues to develop, anyone can be able to design such equipment; I don’t think that’s the case. I still believe that many of these designs aren’t true designs at all – either they involve modifying some template, or using software that most people can’t understand in order to get a result that shows “passed”, and that’s it Is that how it is? I think software is merely a tool to improve efficiency; to truly understand and master something, one should be given a pencil and some sheets of paper to design with. Only when the design is well-reasoned and logical can it be considered true design.
There isn’t much future in it, but it definitely won’t be abolished. The reason is that this is a specialized industry with high risks; it’s not something that anyone can do, nor can it be treated carelessly.
Cancelling doesn’t seem possible. But it may atrophy. I heard from the equipment department in the design institute that it is considered a major field. It’s gradually being moved to the manufacturing plant; 10 people will remain in the equipment department, along with 8 others. Take a look at the drawings and review them……
Which specialties in design institutes have a promising future?
Major fields such as process engineering and piping have good prospects.
