Can the 20G pipeline be used for the GC1 pipeline?

According to Article 26 of TSG D0001-2009 Regulations on Safety Inspection of Pressure Piping – Industrial Piping, carbon structural steel shall not be used in GC1-class pipelines; however, the design institute stated that 20G can be used. I would appreciate guidance from those with more experience in this area. Thank you!
20G is probably not a carbon structural steel; carbon structural steels are identified by steel grades that start with the letter Q, so the designation you mentioned does not apply.
Carbon steel is carbon steel, and structural steel is structural steel – do not confuse them. 20G is carbon steel rather than carbon structural steel.
Carbon structural steel generally refers to steel that complies with the \"GB 700-2006\" standard; there are 4 grades available, namely Q195/Q215/Q235/Q275. The different grades vary in terms of sulfur and phosphorus content, and thus are classified into different categories as well.

There are specific standards for structural steel pipes, and separate standards exist for pressure pipes; you can take a look at GB/T8162 and GB/T8163
