Increasing the volume of circulating water does not help either. It is suspected that a chemical reaction is taking place on the shell side, resulting in the accumulation of reactive substances on the outside of the tubes, or that the medium itself is dirty and causes such accumulation, leading to the poor heat exchange performance. Has anyone with experience done cleaning of the shell side of heat exchangers? For media such as ammonia, how should chemical cleaning be carried out, and is it effective? ? ?
If it is possible to access the interior of the heat exchanger, high-pressure cleaning should be carried out; if that is not feasible, then consider whether chemical cleaning methods can be used. Consulting a professional service agency is advisable. In theory, ammonia heat exchangers should not get dirty, and we clean the inside of our ammonia heat exchangers by cleaning the tube side.
The ammonia heat exchanger may be affected by lubricant scale, and chemical cleaning is a suitable method.
