Segmented heaters are made by welding seamless steel pipes with a diameter of 15–50 mm together. To facilitate installation, disassembly, and repair, the heater consists of several segments; each segment is formed by 2–4 parallel pipes that are connected to two manifolds. These segments are combined in parallel-serial configurations to form a single unit. The number of such groups within the tank is determined through mathematical calculations based on the size of the oil tank. To facilitate the drainage of condensate, a certain slope must be created between the inlet and outlet. Segmented heaters are not very long, have low friction, and can use steam at lower pressures. But the joints between the segments are the areas prone to leakage. Coil heater: A coil heater is a type of tubular heater made by bending long tubes together; it is typically constructed from seamless steel tubes with a diameter of 15–50 mm, and only a few flange connections are used for installation and maintenance purposes. The coiled tubes are evenly distributed at the bottom of the oil tank, which improves the heating effect of the oil. Due to the long length of the pipeline and high pressure, high requirements are placed on the steam pressure. Sometimes, to reduce the pressure drop, the coiled tube can also be divided into several parallel groups and used together.
