Dear sea friends, I need your help with something: I would like to understand what are the reasons for the high consumption of bromine in the production of tetrabromobisphenol A. I am a manufacturer of bisphenol A. Our customers have used our products and claim that there are quality issues; however, the quality problem they describe is that the content of the main product is low – only 93% – when no bromine is added. When bromine is added, there are no problems with the product. I’m not very familiar with the production process of tetrabromobisphenol A, but I don’t think the increase in bromine consumption is caused by bisphenol A. Based on the description of the incident, it seems that there was an issue with the customer’s bromine measurement, but I’m not sure. I also hope that fellow sailors can help me analyze this.
I think that if there is a problem with the quality of tetrabromobisphenol A itself, then it is likely a problem with bisphenol A. But it seems to be a problem with the conversion rate, so there must be an issue with the bromine measurement.
Are there no companies in the industry involved in the production of tetrabromobisphenol A? I hope everyone will be kind enough to give me some advice and help me out
