What causes the increase in the amount of DNBP used in styrene plants?
The injection of DNBP is determined by the amount of polymer in the tower bottom; simply an increase in DNBP consumption does not indicate anything significant.
The key is to figure out how to increase the yield. If instrument failures or operational errors are ruled out, several factors should be considered: 1) increased tar extraction volume, 2) reduced tar circulation volume, 3) insufficient DNBP concentration, 4) excessive DNBP consumption due to system leaks, and so on
There is a certain relationship between the circulation amount of root-loop DNBP; if the circulation amount is low but the tar recovery rate is high, the amount of fresh DNBP added must increase accordingly, resulting in higher consumption.
