I’ve recently become interested in using acid-base treatment combined with clay adsorption to process diesel, but I’m struggling due to limited information and lack of experience in this area. I feel like I’m like a sponge in the desert right now, struggling to move forward. I hope experts can give me some advice

Using acid/alkaline washing and clay adsorption for diesel refining is no longer a mainstream technique; it can be said to be an obsolete method. Diesel refining now relies primarily on hydrogenation to remove impurities such as sulfur, nitrogen, and acids, and it can also increase the cetane number appropriately; moreover, it generates fewer waste materials that have an impact on the environment. Acid-base refining and clay refining are on a small scale and involve complicated operations; currently, only small-scale local refineries use them, and they are subject to strict environmental regulations.
