Conveyor belts are commonly used conveying equipment in the food industry, as well as in the electronics industry and other sectors. They can transport various materials, and they also enable the execution of various processing steps for different products during transportation, thus creating a rhythmic, streamlined production line. Conveyor belts can also be used for horizontal, inclined, and vertical transportation, and they are widely applied in various modern industrial enterprises. There are various reasons for the lack of significant progress in the transformation and upgrading of the conveyor belt transportation industry. One of them is related to our past practices. We focused on the development of conveyor products, but didn’t pay attention to market research or to achieving industrialization. More specifically, it means emphasizing technology over craftsmanship, and emphasizing development over industrialization. Our belt conveyor products may appear to be of high quality and highly advanced, with sophisticated functions and performance metrics, but they start to malfunction after being used by customers for not long. Alternatively, the belt conveyor product itself may be usable, but its manufacturing cost is very high, resulting in a lack of competitiveness in the market. In our country, the belt conveyors used in the conveying industry have been continuously developing and undergoing transformation and upgrading, and significant progress has been achieved. In the first 10 years, we went through a period focused on scale expansion and the expansion of product ranges. The scale of enterprises in our industry and GDP have increased; our companies’ facilities have been expanded, equipment has been upgraded, the workforce has grown, and productivity has improved. For many types of products, a process from nothing to existence has been achieved; conveyor belts have evolved from simple conveying devices to systems that can also carry out various processing steps on the materials being transported. The conveyor equipment industry still has significant room for growth in China’s conveyor market. Manufacturers of belt conveyors are constantly seeking to bridge any gaps, learning new technologies in order to produce conveyor equipment that features high levels of automation, reliability, and flexibility. Most importantly, such equipment should also have fast production speeds and a high level of technical sophistication. It is now evident that the overall demand in the transportation market is shrinking significantly, while the demand structure is rapidly changing. The transformation and upgrading of the conveyor industry has become an urgent task; enhancing the competitiveness of belt conveyors is therefore a top priority in this process of transformation and upgrading, which at the same time brings greater economic benefits to various enterprises. During this period, conveyor manufacturers filled the gap in many products, and belt conveyors were generally in short supply. However, with the **adjustment of the economic structure, the transportation industry must reconsider: what should be the direction for its current transformation and upgrading? We must recognize that, compared to the advanced enterprises in developed countries, we are still at the lower end of the global industrial chain, and our market share in high-end transportation sectors has not increased. This is mainly because our belt conveyor products lack sufficient market competitiveness, especially in terms of stability and reliability; there is still a significant gap compared to advanced automatic production machines as well as domestic counterparts. Therefore, conveyor belt manufacturers focus more of their efforts on \"doing it well,\" that is, on making the transition from being able to do it to actually doing it well.
