There’s another project; the volume of work involved isn’t very large. The on-site construction team wants to replace all power-based rust removal methods with manual rust removal. Is that possible?
It depends on the type of paint being used. For temperatures below 120°C, low-surface-treatment epoxy resins can be used. For areas exposed to high temperatures, the surface treatment requirement is usually Sa2.5; the demands on surface treatment are quite high, as both cleanliness and roughness are important factors, and manual rust removal makes it difficult to meet these requirements. Manual rust removal is not recommended; of course, it is used in many actual construction sites, but it is advised that designers should not approve such methods. If the construction team wants to save time, they should take the responsibility themselves – after all, there isn’t much liability associated with painting, and no one pays attention to this aspect
List the technical requirements; if it can be achieved manually, then do so manually; if not, it depends on whether the client is willing to compromise and accept it.
Is it costly to set up a sandblasting equipment on-site?
This isn’t a one-time investment; construction teams usually have complete sets of equipment. Once a project is completed, the equipment is taken down and used for the next project. The investment isn’t particularly large
