There’s no need to worry too much about steam pipes; carbon steel is usually sufficient, and it’s enough to account for a certain amount of corrosion allowance. Mainly consider thermal stress and erosion at the elbow area.
Agree with the comment above. In steam pipes, corrosion is virtually non-existent, but erosion needs to be considered in certain areas. Just consider the corrosion allowance.

However, for other media such as hydrogen, or toxic, flammable fluids along with those that are acidic or alkaline, regular monitoring is necessary, and any issues detected should be addressed promptly.
