Dear experts, I’m facing a problem right now and I hope you can help me. I have a set of titanium-based evaporation and concentration equipment used for treating chloride-containing wastewater, and this wastewater contains 20 PPM of fluoride ions. I would like to know whether titanium can withstand such conditions, and what is the maximum fluoride ion concentration that titanium can tolerate. Let me explain; the material is TA2
What are the operating conditions? Temperature? Pressure?

It deals with evaporation concentration equipment used for treating chloride-containing wastewater, in which the fluoride ion concentration is 20PPM. Is it negative pressure? If it is under negative pressure, the temperature may be around 80 degrees; if it is under positive pressure, the temperature may be 100–120 degrees. Under such operating conditions, it is recommended to use graphite heat exchangers and graphite concentration tanks. -

It mainly depends on the operating conditions. It makes no sense to consider chloride ions in wastewater; at such a low concentration, almost any material available can be used. The operating conditions during the concentration process are particularly important.
