Most of the buried oil, gas, sewage, and water supply pipelines laid in industry have entered their life cycle. Due to external forces or their own service life, corrosion and scaling will inevitably occur, resulting in pipeline perforation or leakage accidents. See Figures 1 to 3 for details. In this way, more buried pipelines have entered the secondary maintenance period. How to maintain them is a topic that needs to be studied.
For corrosion and scaling problems in buried pipelines, the following repair methods are required: 1. Corrosion repair: First, the cause of corrosion must be determined, such as whether it is chemical corrosion or electrochemical corrosion. Then it can be repaired by brushing, spraying, coating, etc. Brushing and spraying are suitable for small areas of corrosion, which can be repaired with corrosion-resistant paint ; Coating can be used for large area or deep corrosion, and can be covered with polyethylene, fiberglass and other materials. 2. Scaling treatment: Scaling is generally caused by solid particles in the fluid in the pipeline. Scaling can be removed using mechanical methods (such as scraping, flushing) or chemical methods (such as using melting agents). The mechanical method is suitable for scaling that is easier to scrape, and the chemical method is suitable for scaling that is more difficult to scrape, but you need to pay attention to safety issues when using chemicals. 3. Replace pipes: If the corrosion or scaling is severe enough that it cannot be repaired, you need to consider replacing the pipes. When replacing pipes, you need to select appropriate materials and construction methods, and perform pipe connections and sealing. To sum up, for the corrosion and scaling problems of buried pipelines, corresponding repair methods need to be adopted according to specific conditions to ensure the normal operation and service life of the pipelines. .
I usually choose option 3 for this thing and spend more money.
The scaling is quite serious and the pipes need to be replaced.
Consideration can be given to rust removal and anti-corrosion technologies for buried pipelines without excavation.
