DATETIME Tue Mar 07 16:19:54 2017 Failed to initialize the Aspen Properties Enterprise Database. The configuration file cannot be found at C:\ProgramData\AspenTech\APED V8.4\config.aem. Please use the Aspen Properties Database Configuration Tester to diagnose and resolve the issue
Program — AspenTech — Process Modeling V8.4 — Aspen Properties — Aspen Properties Database Configuration Tester. Click Start; once the database is configured properly, everything will be fine. You may need to click Start twice in between; the configuration is done automatically during that process
Although the reply is a bit late, those who are facing problems can give it a try. Open your installation directory, locate APrSystem v7.3 (v8.4 also works for me) — PropertyDatebase-Bin-dbrestore.exe, and run it as an administrator. But the prerequisite is that you must first install SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1. The issue shown in your image occurs because the physical property data isn’t being called correctly; there is also a dbTesterAdv folder in the Bin directory – open it to check whether the physical property databases (such as APV, NIST, etc.) have been loaded.
