When calculating stresses, for piping systems for which height and wind speed need to be specified, the relationship between wind speed and height is generally determined in accordance with the standard GB50009. Page 220 of this standard provides an expression for the wind speed profile. I would like to ask whether I can use the wind speed at a height of 10 meters, as given in the design specifications, along with this formula to obtain wind speeds at different heights, and then use those values as input parameters
I usually convert wind speed to wind pressure for input
The wind pressure corresponding to the wind speed at 10 meters is the basic wind pressure; of course, in some cases this basic wind pressure needs to be adjusted, and for special structures, the wind vibration coefficient also needs to be taken into account.
