I checked the forum and found articles from 2007 on HYSYS real-time optimization. But when I searched for information on real-time optimization and online optimization using search engines, I didn’t find any more recent results; there was only one article related to ROMEO, which claims to have been the market leader for many years. I’m not sure what the actual situation is regarding its applications and technologies in this field
Same question: are there any teachers in the forum who specialize in this area? Share some materials

ROMeo has now been upgraded to its latest version, 2020. This new version includes three additional optimization modules for ammonia synthesis, shift reaction, and methanation. Starting from version 6.0, simsci also developed a series of reactor models specific to refineries; when combined with the ROMeo reactor models originally developed by KBC as well as interfaces with tools such as SPYRO, these models enable accurate real-time simulation and optimization of various refinery units.
As mentioned by two people earlier, there are mainly two platforms: 1) AspenTech’s online solutions, Aspenplus, and DMC; 2) Schneider Electric’s Remeo. It seems that Honeywell is also involved in this area abroad. As for the rest, it’s mainly universities and foreign companies, with few project examples available. These two companies also implemented ethylene plants at Yanshan Petrochemical and Zhenhai Refining respectively. Over the past few years, Sinopec Yingke has been carrying out projects within Sinopec; there are also a few other contractors, and CNPC Jihua has as well – it’s not clear which company is responsible for them. This relies quite heavily on implementation experience as well as subsequent support and maintenance. At present, the management systems and staffing structures in domestic refineries differ from those abroad, so the outcomes – especially after a few years of operation – vary from person to person.
Thank you. I learned from the literature that conventional real-time optimization is based on steady-state models (I’m not sure if this is the case), but are there any products or research cases for RTO based on dynamic models?
SSRTO is developed on a project-specific basis; it will undergo iterations in 2022, and its performance will be comparable to that of Online and ROMeo
