I have the Chemical Engineering Handbooks (Volumes 1-6), Chemical Process Design Handbooks (Volumes 1 and 2), Chemical Equipment Design Handbooks (Volumes 1 and 2), Chemical Piping Design Handbooks (Volumes 1 and 2), and a Concise Handbook on Chemical Equipment and Vessels – all of which are older editions. How much is the Chemical Engineering Handbook worth?
These days, many reference books see little use even in their new editions, let alone the older versions, which are even less likely to be consulted.
Compared to the old version, the new version does have some improvements, but it contains many more errors and instances of outright copying; it copies everything verbatim, including the original errors.
It’s only now that I realize books are still the most expensive thing, as there’s such a great need for them
