Ethanol is used in large quantities in the workshop (as there are no storage tanks available); currently, plastic ton barrels are used for storing it. Some people say there is a risk of fire caused by static electricity – are there any solutions? Can I use a ton barrel? What are the risks of using ton barrels? How to address the issue of extensive use in workshops without using ton barrels?
Storage tanks cannot be placed outside; can’t we use pipeline pumps to transfer the liquid in? Ethanol is a Class A flammable liquid with a low flash point, it evaporates rapidly, and static electricity can be generated as well. Using it in large quantities poses significant risks when stored in tons of barrels
The main concern is whether there are any safety requirements; ethanol is indeed dangerous, so it is not recommended to use ton barrels – storage tanks are preferable
Why plastic? At the very least, we need to use an iron barrel
The capacity of iron barrels is too small; one ton barrel is roughly equivalent to four iron barrels.
Is there space for the ton barrels but not for storage tanks? Couldn’t we simply add a tank or container in the area where the ton barrels are kept, and use a pump to transfer the liquid there? Otherwise, if something goes wrong, no one can escape.
Antistatic drums can also be used
