What is the difference between installing the pump outlet pressure gauge before and after the check valve? ?
It is generally installed in front of the check valve, as it best reflects the pressure at the pump outlet
I agree with what was said above; I used to wonder about this issue as well, but later I thought it’s better to place it as close as possible to the pump outlet.
If the pump is set to 1 with 1 as a backup, and the pressure gauge is installed before the check valve, the backup pump does not produce any output, so the pressure is zero. If it is installed after the check valve, the pressure from that PUMP in operation will be transmitted. In this way, it’s impossible to tell which one is running.
How is it possible not to tell which one is running? The inlet and outlet manual valves of the pump that is not in operation are closed. We do have many pumps, one in use and one as a backup. The pressure gauge is installed on the distribution panel behind the check valve, which saves one pressure gauge.
The check valve itself also causes a pressure drop, so this is certainly not as good as the one-device-per-meter standard.

The pressure gauge is installed between the pump outlet and the check valve; in addition to providing an accurate reading of pressure, it can also serve as an indicator of whether the pump has been properly depressurized during maintenance, ensuring that there is no residual pressure inside the equipment and thus avoiding any safety risks for the operators and maintenance staff~~
In some designs, the manual valve at the outlet of the standby pump is left open, so that when the operating pump trips, the control program will cause the standby pump to start immediately. If the operator has to go to the site to start the pump, the time delay is not acceptable in some manufacturing processes.
