It’s a bit exciting to post for the first time. The knowledge related to chemical engineering at Kaichuan University is vast, while those of us younger generations have very little knowledge in the field of powder processing. Today, let’s discuss the knowledge related to powder metering that I have learned. To reinforce my memory, I would be very grateful if any experts could offer their guidance. 1. Powder metering tanks can be divided into continuous metering and batch metering types. They use the same weighing module; the difference lies in the algorithm of the PLC control system. Continuous measurement is complex, which is why the price is much higher. The accuracy of continuous measurement can reach 0.05%. 2. Batch metering can be divided into addition metering and subtraction metering. The precision can reach 0.1–5 per thousand. The level of precision is related to the bulk density of the powder. The lower the bulk density, the higher the measurement accuracy. The measurement accuracy does not necessarily have a direct relationship with the particle size of the powder within a certain range; as long as the speed of the feeder is properly controlled, the desired accuracy can be achieved. Of course, the particle size cannot be infinitely large; for example, some powders tend to clump together, and it is impossible to ensure precision in materials that are in clumped form. On the other hand, this can also lead to blockages in pipes. 3. How can the crystallized bulk material be automatically measured? A crusher can be considered. There are many types of crushers, including jaw crushers, hammer crushers, impact crushers, and roller crushers. Other methods of fine crushing include air jet milling, mechanical grinding, and so on. For materials with a low bulk density, hammer and roller mills can meet the required particle size for metering.

Indeed, the more important factor affecting the measurement accuracy in the weight-increasing method is the weight range per batch
