What are the appropriate design pressure and design temperature for equipment operating at normal temperature and pressure? ? What needs to be considered?
1. Determination of design pressure: The design pressure is 0.5–1.0 times the operating pressure (determined based on the maximum operating pressure and the opening pressure of the safety valve). 2. Determination of design temperature: If the medium is at normal temperature and the device is installed indoors, the design can be carried out using the highest local temperature plus 10°C. Those installed outdoors are designed for 90°C.
How could the design pressure be lower than the operating pressure? The design pressure should be 1.25-1.5 times the operating pressure
Yeah, I saw it and thought I must have remembered it wrong, haha! I just went to look up some information, and after returning I saw your reply and confirmed once again that I remembered correctly!
For equipment operating at normal temperature and pressure, the design pressure is specified as atmospheric pressure, while the design temperature is set at the extreme external temperature
Agree with what was said on floor 5: the design pressure can be at atmospheric pressure, and the temperature needs to be higher than the operating temperature
It is best to define boundaries; writing normal pressure is an irresponsible approach. If it is not directly open to the atmosphere, a pressure difference will exist between the inside and outside of the system.
