Who knows what requirements there are for the installation position of the target plate during steam pipe purging? (related to the distance from the control electric valve, the length of the straight pipe section, etc.) :)
Previously, when working with the device, the target plate was placed 1 meter away from the tube opening; I’m not sure if there are any regulations regarding this.

It needs to be wrapped in white cloth. There are also those that use white oil; personally, I think the effect isn’t as good as that of using a white cloth. When purging, be sure to establish a sufficient safety margin; safety must come first at all times.
The target plate should not be installed too far away from the electric valve; otherwise, a decrease in steam flow velocity will result in a reduced impact force of the particles. Generally, the target plate is located 3-5 meters away from the electric valve.
Most are fixed. Blasting shooting involves using the valve at the very end of the pipeline system to control the pressure; once it reaches the required level, this valve is suddenly opened to release pressure, thereby creating a very high flow rate within the pipeline and allowing the debris inside it to be carried out. It is dangerous to get close to the release point at the moment of pressure release, so it is difficult to conduct inspections at any time. Our approach is to carry out blasting and purging 3 to 5 times before starting the inspection; wooden or metal plates covered with white cloth are fixed about 1 meter away from the pressure release point ; Warning signs and dedicated supervision must be in place at the pressure release point, and work can only begin after the area has been cleared.
Oh, I don’t think this is called a blast type, right? But it makes sense if you’re using a selector valve. Otherwise, it cannot be considered a blast type. There is a blast-type purging, and any method of target shooting used basically does not achieve the effects produced by the flow velocity of the blast-type purging gas. Strictly speaking, explosive purging also requires certain conditions to be met: a flange is installed at the pipe outlet, along with an explosion disc; when the pressure increases, the explosion disc ruptures suddenly – this is what constitutes explosive purging. As for the purge test, I don’t understand it.
