Jiangsu has seen rapid development in recent years, and every county and city in the province is at a high level of development; as a result, there is often a sense of rivalry among people from Jiangsu, with no one willing to acknowledge superiority over another. Actually, this is quite normal; everyone wants to see the city they live in develop better. Thanks to Jiangsu’s strong industrial foundation, many enterprises have set up operations there. Recently, Sinopec’s first PTA project with an annual production capacity of 3 million tons was officially commissioned; the project is located at Yizheng Chemical Fiber Company in Jiangsu. This project employs advanced environmentally friendly manufacturing technologies and a short-process technological approach, accelerating Sinopec’s progress in adopting high-end new technologies. This PTA plant with an annual production capacity of 3 million tons is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2023, representing an important step for Sinopec in strengthening its aromatic chemicals industry chain. PTA is the abbreviation for purified terephthalic acid, a derivative of the petroleum industry chain that links the petrochemical and textile fiber industries. It is an essential raw material in the aromatic hydrocarbons industry chain. Through further processing, PTA can be turned into polyester fibers, plastic products, agricultural films, and more. It can be said that in everyday life, products made from PTA are available everywhere at all times. Especially in recent years, the application fields of PTA materials have become increasingly broad, with them being used in life sciences, aerospace, and smart IoT devices. This project constructed by Sinopec in Yizheng, Jiangsu, is Sinopec’s first PTA plant with a production capacity of 3 million tons; it boasts advantages such as a large scale for individual plants, environmental friendliness, and low carbon emissions. On the one hand, this project can help upgrade Yizheng’s existing equipment and achieve green development ； On the other hand, it also strengthened the advantages of Sinopec and Yizheng in Jiangsu in this field, thereby driving the economic development of Yizheng.
