I would like to ask the experts: what happens if a centrifugal pump has too high power? Does it just consume more electricity, or are there any other effects?
When the power is high, the flow rate and head generated are also high; if such a high flow rate isn’t necessary, the outlet valve can be closed, resulting in pressure buildup at the outlet. This leads to increased backflow of liquid inside the pump, causing the liquid to heat up. The pump’s seals are more likely to get damaged, and the pump’s vibration also intensifies
It can be used as long as the rotational speed and required power meet the specifications. However, power supply might not be allowed due to insufficient capacity of the electrical components used, for reference only.
A slightly smaller outer diameter for the impeller will suffice
Add an inverter to control the pump’s speed
