The materials for the stainless steel hoses used for the air supply in pneumatic valves, as well as the air supply valves and pneumatic triple units, – who is responsible for installing these air supply pipelines for the pneumatic valves?
Isn’t design work something that design institutes handle?
In our company, the installation is carried out by third parties; we cannot handle the instrumentation ourselves
The instrument design is carried out by specialized design firms, while the construction is done by instrument construction teams. Pipes with a diameter larger than DN50 fall under the scope of the process engineering field; however, there is no clear distinction in this regard. Sometimes, the design team is tasked with handling the instrument design, while as for construction, it depends on which party the constructor is – generally, pipes with a diameter of Φ22 or less are constructed by the instrument engineering team
Control valves fall under the responsibility of the instrumentation department; the gas pipelines or electrical signals required for operation are also considered part of the instrumentation installation. Generally, such pipelines have a diameter of no more than DN15 and are regarded as part of the instrument air. For instrument air pipelines larger than DN40 (main pipes), it is usually the design institute that determines the layout of the pipelines; for those smaller than DN40, on-site specialists provide guidance, and the pipeline installation team is responsible for connecting them to the points where air is required by the control valves.
These are usually pre-configured by the valve manufacturers before the valves leave the factory
It can be classified under equipment pipeline installation. It can also be classified as instrument installation (low-voltage installation). Whoever installs it gets the money, that’s all.
