The gas phase in the sulfur-containing wastewater storage tank has been separated using a water ring vacuum pump, and the system has been operating well. Recently, the pump inlet has been clogging frequently; the substance causing the blockage is grayish-yellow sulfides. I’m not sure what the reason is. I’d like to ask the experts here
The formation of sulfides may be the result of sulfur reacting chemically with other substances inside the storage tank. The specific reaction mechanisms may be complex, including the reaction of sulfur with other substances in the storage tank, as well as the sulfidation reactions of sulfur-containing wastewater under high temperature or pressure. As for the reasons for frequent blockages, they may be related to the following factors: 1. An increase in the sulfur content within the storage tank, which accelerates the rate of sulfide formation ; 2. Changes in temperature or pressure inside the storage tank, which alter the conditions for sulfide formation ; 3. There is a problem with the filtration system at the pump inlet, preventing it from effectively blocking the passage of sulfides ; 4. Changes in wastewater composition or adjustments to the treatment process lead to the generation and accumulation of sulfides. Solving this problem requires an in-depth analysis of the site conditions, and chemical analysis of the wastewater in the storage tank may be necessary to determine the mechanism and source of sulfide formation. At the same time, the operating condition of the water ring vacuum pump and the filtration system are inspected to determine whether adjustments or optimizations are necessary. If possible, considering changing the wastewater treatment process or procedures could help reduce the amount of sulfides produced, thereby minimizing the occurrence of blockages. .
It could be ammonium hydrosulfide, ammonium polysulfide, sulfur, etc.; it is recommended to conduct analysis to check whether ammonia-containing wastewater has entered
