Its upstream sources mainly include catalytic cracking (FCC) in refineries, the co-production of ethylene via steam cracking, and processes such as propane dehydrogenation (PDH). The midstream stage consists of propylene monomer, while the downstream product range is very extensive; it mainly includes: 1) Polypropylene (PP), which is produced through polymerization processes and represents the largest area of consumption ； 2) Acrylonitrile (AN), produced via the ammoxidation of propylene, is a key raw material for manufacturing ABS resin and acrylic fiber ； 3) Propylene oxide (PO): The main production methods are co-oxidation (PO/SM or PO/MTBE) and direct oxidation (HPPO), which are used to produce polyether polyols, propylene glycol, etc ； 4) Butyl octyl alcohol (2-EH) is obtained by hydrogenating n/isobutyraldehyde produced via the propylene carbonyl synthesis (OXO process); it is an important raw material for plasticizers ； 5) Acrylic acid and esters, prepared via a two-step oxidation of propylene, are used in the production of superabsorbent resins, coatings, etc. The industry chain is technology-intensive, features diverse process routes, and has strong market interconnections.
