During the summer, the instrument heating must be turned off. Instrument heating relies on a branch taken from the process main pipe; now the valve at the start of this branch has been closed. Is it necessary to empty the steam inside this branch pipe? Some say yes, while others say no – emptying it could lead to more severe rusting. The material of the steam pipeline is carbon steel.
Stainless steel tubes are generally used for instrument heating, as they do not rust. It will discharge the steam in all cases
The heat tracing pipeline should be made of white steel, right? The main pipe is made of carbon steel, so it hardly rusts. If the branch is made of carbon steel, it is best to evacuate it and maintain the pressure with nitrogen

Switch to a brass pipe; it requires no maintenance for life. In case any of you lose your job, taking home a gold tube will be enough for the whole family to get by for several years.
