Those who have experience: what is the difference between an electrostatic tar catcher and an electrostatic precipitator? Can the design concept of an electrostatic tar catcher be based on that of an electrostatic precipitator? Thank you

The electrostatic tar catcher is a type of wet electrostatic precipitator in a broader sense. It operates on the same principle as electrostatic precipitators: through a corona electric field, particles and droplets in the flue gas passing through this field become charged, and under the force of the electric field they are collected on the collection electrode, thereby purifying the flue gas. The main difference lies in the different media present in the flue gas of the complementary systems; the corrosivity of the flue gas varies, which in turn leads to differences in the material used for the equipment.
