Have you ever used coal slurry with a very low concentration in water-coal slurry gasification? A low concentration of coal slurry presents certain risks. When the flow rate of the coal slurry remains constant, a decrease in concentration means less coal is fed into the furnace. If the oxygen flow rate is not adjusted in a timely manner, this can lead to excessively high temperatures in the gasification furnace, melting of the slag on the furnace walls which in turn accelerates the erosion of the refractory bricks, an increase in the CO2 content in the gas and a decrease in the methane content, as well as a reduction in the amount of usable gas. This results in higher consumption per unit of output, and there is even a risk of excess oxygen. So it’s best to avoid keeping the concentration too low, as it is not worthwhile either from a safety perspective or in terms of consumption. Low-pressure water-coal slurry gasification already exists, with several applications already in use. When operating coal water slurry at low pressure, several problems arise. For example, the gas flow rate under low pressure is high, which makes it easy for the gasifier to contain water; moreover, the wash tower downstream is also prone to having water in it, which has an impact on the subsequent conversion processes.
