Simply put, due to the arching effect caused by the accumulation of material, the material remains suspended; the material at the top cannot fall, while the material below is left hanging in the air. This prevents the materials from descending properly from the silo.
The so-called shed material refers to large amounts of coal sticking to the inner walls of the coal bin, with coal accumulating in the gaps between them, forming mouse holes.
