It can be said that this technology is now mature; many coking plants in China have adopted it, including Fujian Sanming Iron and Steel, Wuhan Iron and Steel’s Pingmei plant, and Dafeng Coking. Some issues were identified, but they have been largely resolved
In fact, the utilization of waste heat from the rising pipe has both advantages and disadvantages: 1, it can improve the temperature in the space above the furnace; 2, if water is used for preheating, heat can be supplied over a small area; 3, if air is used for preheating, it provides a heat source for the coal extraction point in winter; 4, it supplies hot water for bathing; 5, adding ammonia to the system for reflux is also an advantage. The disadvantages are…; 1. Preheating while absorbing heat lowers the temperature of the drum, making it easier for tar to accumulate. 2. It is difficult to maintain either using water or air. 3. Water preheating generates pressure, increasing the likelihood of accidents. 4. It makes it harder to clean the outer surface of the rising tube. 5. Equipment failures are prone to being misdiagnosed.
