Bituminous coal has a low volatile matter content and is considered a high-rank coal. When using fluidized-bed gasification technologies like U-gas, the carbon conversion rate and cold gas efficiency are low, making it unsuitable for such applications. Fluidized bed gasification technology is more suitable for gasifying low-rank coals with high gasification activity. For anthracite, fluidized bed gasification technology is recommended. If the slurry-forming property is good, coal water slurry gasification technologies such as GE and multi-nozzle systems can be used; otherwise, dry coal powder gasification technologies such as Shell and space furnace systems are recommended. Of course it is necessary; it depends on the use of gas – whether it is to be used as an industrial fuel gas or as a raw material for chemical synthesis ; Requirements of downstream processes regarding total gas production, output per unit device, load adjustment range, and gas calorific value ; Technical and economic considerations are taken into account, including raw coal quality data (ash content, ash fusion point, grindability index), raw coal prices, and transportation distance. U-gas is a fluidized-bed gasification technology that uses ash fusion slag removal, with demonstration projects in Zaozhuang, Shandong, and Henan.
