When taking samples using online analysis instruments in the CO2 washing section of the main washing tower in our company’s low-temperature methanol washing unit, a large amount of methanol is carried along, resulting in inaccurate measurements. As a result, it is necessary to have someone go and remove the methanol regularly, which is quite troublesome. What can be done?
Is it possible to remove it and add a small separation tank?
No further action taken? Such as a gas-liquid separator
Gas-liquid separator, with a level switch for automatic control of the drain valve
If the primary water removal is insufficient, secondary water removal is applied
It is likely that various methanol removal devices such as foam removers are not effective enough, or it may be due to factors such as a high level of CO2 and relatively high operating temperatures.
A gas-water separation tank can be installed before entering the analyzer, and two stages of silica gel desiccants for water removal can be used after leaving the separation tank to ensure that the gas remains dry.
Adding an isolation tank should do it.
