Could the senior share the advantages and disadvantages of the different processes among the five sets of equipment, or their insights regarding those five sets of equipment?
It can be seen that among the several mainstream processes, those based on oil, coal, and the PDH route all generate considerable profits; however, there is also a clear loser – the process of producing olefins from purchased methanol (MTO). Based on the current most common production process, which assumes 3 tons of methanol per ton of polyolefins used, the profitability of the MTO process in East China is extremely poor. Taking processing costs into account, East China’s MTO incurs a loss of over 500 yuan per ton.
PDH is currently the most profitable, followed by coal-based olefins.
