On February 28, 2017, the Ministry of Environmental Protection planned to review the environmental impact assessment for the Mengxi coal-to-natural gas transmission pipeline project. To ensure the seriousness and fairness of the review process, the basic information regarding the proposed environmental impact assessment is being made public, with the publicity period running from February 28, 2017, to March 6, 2017. The project includes 1 main line, 3 branch lines, 1 connecting line, and 5 connection pipelines, with a total length of 1,279 kilometers. The main pipeline starts at the first station in Hangjin Banner, Ordos, Inner Mongolia, and ends at the last station in Huanghua City, Hebei Province. Its designed gas transmission capacity is 20 billion cubic meters per year, with the gas supply coming from the Ordos region as well as the coal-to-natural gas projects in Datong, Shanxi.
