What is the difference between the MTP process and Tianchen Chemical’s FMTP process?

Does the new process offer higher selectivity for olefins?
MTP currently only has Luchi’s process package, right! One plant in Datang Duolun and another in Heze have already been put into operation.
Bro, the one in Heze doesn’t use Lurgi’s process packages; strictly speaking, it’s not an MTP process, although they aim to be in line with Lurgi’s standards. The MTP process is mainly used at Shenhua Ningmei and Datang Dolun. Due to issues with the gas feed load, Datang Dolun has consistently faced a shortage of methanol raw materials, which prevents an increase in overall production capacity and results in poor efficiency. Shenhua Ningmei is quite good; it is said to be operating at full capacity currently.
Tianchen’s FMTP uses a fluidized-bed process, with SAPO molecular sieves as the catalysts, while Lurgi’s MTP employs a fixed-bed process, using HSM-5 molecular sieves as catalysts. Tianchen also has industrial-scale facilities, as does Huating Coal Industry; however, it seems that based on market conditions, they have changed their product portfolio to produce more ethylene, similar to what MTP does.
It’s not just overloaded – Ningxia Coal would love to build a few more such units.
No, Ningxia Coal has already launched Phase 2 of its MTP. It’s now switched to MTO. Now, Ningxia Coal’s coal-to-oil (indirect) and coal-to-olefins processes have been implemented; only coal-to-gas remains to be developed.

Currently, Lurgi is the only company in the world that possesses MTP technology. The mixed aromatics produced as a by-product of the facility are sold as components for oil blending, carrying a high added value. The Tang Dynasty also used Luchi’s technology, but due to issues with the upstream gas processing section, the performance of the entire installation was not ideal. Having been in operation for so long, some of the equipment has also been modified based on its original design, such as the design of the heat exchangers. I have been to both Datang and Ningmei coal mines.
