Recently, the technical upgrade project for Section A of Shenhua Ningmei’s coal-to-oil and oil product synthesis facilities, undertaken by Sinopec No. 10 Construction Company, was successfully commissioned after the first feed-in attempt, and it has now entered full production. This technical upgrade project commenced officially on September 15th, with the plant going into a major maintenance period; the tight schedule meant that it took just over 60 days to complete the upgrades and get the plant back online. Shijian Company was responsible for installing pipes with a total diameter of 35,000 inches, 18 pieces of equipment, as well as carrying out related tasks such as electrical and instrumentation installation and anti-corrosion/insulation work. Challenges included delays in the delivery of materials needed for the upgrades, numerous overlapping tasks at the site during the maintenance period, and cold nighttime conditions in Ningxia after winter set in. The project is located in the Ningdong Energy and Chemical Industry Base in Ningxia, with a total investment of around 55 billion yuan. It processes 20.46 million tons of coal per year, producing 4.05 million tons of petroleum products annually, including 2.73 million tons of diesel, 980,000 tons of naphtha, and 340,000 tons of liquefied gas ； 200,000 tons of sulfur, 75,000 tons of mixed alcohols, and 145,000 tons of sulfuric acid will be produced as by-products, with an additional 1 million tons per year of methanol being generated.
