On the afternoon of March 22, the Huainan Municipal Party Committee of Anhui Province held a meeting to discuss the coal-to-natural gas project; Shen Qiang, vice chairman of the Anhui Provincial People’s Congress and secretary of the Huainan Municipal Party Committee, presided over the meeting, with responsible officials from Huainan City and related enterprises in attendance. Zhang Feifei, Zhu Yicun, and Liu Yacheng, leaders of Anhui Energy Group Co., Ltd., attended the talks. Located in Yangcun Township, Fengtai County, Huainan City, Anhui Province, this project covers an area of about 2,300 mu. It is a natural gas project with an annual production capacity of 4 billion cubic meters, requiring a total investment of around 30 billion yuan. The construction will take place in two phases: the first phase involves an investment of 15 billion yuan to build facilities capable of producing 2.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. The meeting provided an update on the progress of the Huainan coal-to-natural gas project since its approval, and the participating enterprises discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and accelerate the advancement of the project. During the meeting, Shen Qiang said that the coal-to-gas project in Huainan is a valuable initiative that benefits both the country and its people. The construction of this project will play an important role in facilitating the industrial economic transformation of Huainan and promoting local economic development. The Huainan Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government will intensify their efforts to coordinate and support all relevant parties in accelerating the progress of the project, so as to see it brought to fruition as soon as possible. Zhang Feifei expressed his gratitude to the Huainan Municipal Party Committee and the municipal government for their long-term strong support for the coal-to-gas project. He pointed out that with the reform and development of the energy structure, building the Huainan coal-to-gas project is of strategic significance for ensuring regional natural gas supply.
