Do protectants, refined products, and cracking agents all require sulfidation? Do the catalysts in other devices also need to be sulfidated?

They have many different names, and can also be called inert ceramic balls. Our company specializes in the production of ceramic balls used as fillers – some of these balls are used to support and cover catalysts, while others are utilized in steel plants to store heat

Vulcanization is required, as well as initial activity stability. Some devices use vulcanized catalysts.
The key is to determine whether the catalyst is active in its sulfided state (or oxidized state) or in its reduced state, as well as which form is safer during production, transportation, and loading. For example, catalysts in the sulfided state are active, but they are easier to transport in their reduced state; thus, catalysts in the reduced state are shipped and pre-sulfided before operation begins.

When the catalyst is transported in our device, it is in an oxidized state and therefore inactive; it becomes active only after sulfidation; If passivation is applied, only the cracking catalyst is required
As a type of hydrogenation catalyst, the protective agent also needs to be presulfurized. Basically, the catalysts in all hydrogenation units require to be in a sulfided state to be active. Therefore, pre-vulcanization is generally required. However, some companies purchase pre-vulcanized catalysts in order to avoid this pre-vulcanization step and reduce the time required to get production up and running, so pre-vulcanization is not necessary at the start of operation.
